OUR EXPERTISE

We’ve ridden the recent financial storm.

We came through unscathed because we don’t do conventional banking.

Our strength comes from our financial acuity, long years of experience and our willingness to risk our own capital for clients we believe in.

Balance-sheet analysis
We rigorously research every asset on your balance-sheet to identify potential revenue streams. In short, we roll up our sleeves and do the maths. We use a combination of asset-cashflow modelling and a common-sense approach based on years of experience in structured finance and asset finance.

Assets into bonds
Our job is to understand asset performance patterns and associated volatility. For us, credit-rating agencies offer a guide. But we don’t make a move until we fully grasp the potential cashflows. Our meticulous approach means we can commit our capital deeper into the capital structure. Essentially, we provide a third-party guarantee for our lenders so they can then go ahead and supply the bulk of the debt in the transaction. Your assets are turned into bonds and you get the cash.

Off-balance-sheet treatment
We put the asset on Ocean’s balance-sheet. We set up a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to hold the asset so it is ringfenced from all other assets we own. Ocean holds the share capital attached to the assets which gives your business the right to take them off your balance-sheet, in full accordance with IAS and IFRS regulations.

Whatever the industry, we have been on this financial journey before.

Ocean’s principal partners each have more than fifteen years of experience in asset finance and balance-sheet restructuring.

We’ve mapped the terrain and charted the financial waters to develop
a simple product with infinite variables.
